I've done a number of paintings of ballerinas and several of them are similar in that they depict dancers getting ready to perform. The similarity ends there, though, at least in terms of psychological implication. In one, titled AURA, the ballerina is serene, detached - a state of mind that may or may not help with the dance. The opposite is true in LET'S GO. Here, the dancer is intense, fierce in her readiness for the particular moment. In AURA, the real subject is transcendance, in LET'S GO, the real subject is immediacy and focus. This instant, this person, this thing she's about to do.
